Rodney L. Piatt, President 

Rodney L. Piatt is President of Horizon Properties Group which he founded in 1996 and Horizon Hospitality LLC in 2010.  Rodney prides himself on creating business opportunities with creative ideas and operating them with the highest level of integrity.

He has served on various committees and boards across many business segments including banking, real estate, industrial, leisure, and pharmaceutical.  From 1979 to 1996, Rodney served as President and Director of Millcraft Industries, a multidimensional company primarily focused on the steel and real estate industries.  From 2003 to 2017, Rodney served as a board member of Mylan with his final role as the Vice Chairman and Lead Independent Director of Mylan, Inc. (MYL-Nasdaq);

From 1974 to 1979, Rodney was with Ernst & Ernst. Rodney received a Bachelors of Science in accounting degree from the University of Tampa in 1974. He is a certified public accountant in Pennsylvania and a past member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Gina Johnston, Vice President 

Gina is the Vice President of Horizon Hospitality LLC.  She plays a key role in the development of new hotel properties, their ongoing operations, property finances and the sales and marketing of the current portfolio of hotel properties.  Her goal is to consistently provide a first class facility and hire talented employees that focus on providing outstanding guest services.

Prior to joining Horizon Hospitality, Gina was the General Manager for an upscale Golf and Tennis Resort in Port St. Lucie, Florida for ten years.  She has also assisted in the management of our affiliated Southpointe Golf Club, a private golf club in Southpointe, Pennsylvania.

Gina has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Auburn University where she was a member of the women’s golf and track teams.  She went on to play professional golf for a few years before starting her family.

Stacy Newmaster, Corporate Human Resources Manager 

Stacy Newmaster is the Corporate Human Resources Manager for Horizon Hospitality, LLC. Stacy has 20 plus years of experience in the Human Resources discipline working with hospitality and food service leaders such as Interstate Hotels and Resorts, Carlson Hotels Worldwide and ARAMARK Corporation. Her experience includes benefits administration, property acquisitions, labor relations, workers’ compensation and employee development and retention. Stacy’s knowledge provides our company and managed hotels with a solid work environment and business ethic that promotes growth of our employees within the company. Her goal is to keep well informed regarding the many changing laws and procedures that relate to the hospitality industry and insure that each of our properties are always in compliance. Stacy is a member of the national Society of Human Resources Management organization.

Stacy has a Bachelors of Science degree in Office Administration/Systems from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She spends most of her free time with her husband and two children doing family activities. They enjoy watching Pittsburgh sports teams and love the outdoors.

Amy Nichols, Corporate Director of Operations 

Amy Nichols is the Corporate Director of Operations of Horizon Hospitality. Amy brings 20 plus years of Hotel Operations Experience ranging from independent ownership to large scale hospitality management companies including REAL Hospitality, ONE Lodging and Aimbridge Hospitality. With a focus on Select Service, Distinctive Service and Extended Stay Brands in the Hilton, Marriott, IHG, and Choice, Amy focuses on providing our Leadership with proven best practices, implementing operating procedures, and driving financial results. Her goal is to help our hotels elevate the Guest Experience while increasing operational efficiencies and maximizing profit growth.

Prior to joining Horizon in 2021, Amy was a part of the opening team for an independent resort in the Catskills where she laid the groundwork for all operational policies and procedures, hired and trained the opening team and implemented all technical systems including PMS, POS, Booking Engines and Revenue Management software. She also spent four years as the Area Director of Operations for a portfolio of 5 hotels in New Jersey under Aimbridge Hospitality. Amy has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management with a focus in Accounting and Finance from LaRoche College in addition to an Associate’s Degree in Hospitality Management. Outside of work Amy enjoys spending time outside with her husband and two dogs hiking and traveling to new places.

Sharon Marietta, Corporate Director of Sales 

Sharon Marietta rejoined Horizon Hospitality in 2021 bringing 14 years of hotel sales leadership with Choice Hotels, Marriott, & Hilton properties. Sharon began her hospitality career in 1989 in operations and found her passion for hotel sales in 2007. Sharon won salesperson of the year in 2009 and has been a leader for her sales teams mentoring and coaching them for 14 years with stellar results in Occupancy, ADR, & RevPar. She has received sales certifications for Hilton, Choice Hotels, & Certified Classic Select Coach and Certified Extended Stay Coach through Marriott. Sharon worked for Horizon Hospitality previously as their Director of Sales and Area Director of Sales from 2013 through 2020 and had an opportunity to rejoin Horizon Hospitality in 2021 as their Corporate Director of Sales. She oversees the sales team for all of Horizon Hospitality’s hotel portfolio.

Sharon enjoys spending free time with her husband, traveling to the Caribbean and spending time with her grandchildren.

Lance George, Corporate Revenue Manager 

Lance George is our corporate revenue manager. He works very closely with our general managers and sales personnel to ensure we are maximizing Rev Par at our hotels. Lance is very analytical in deciphering the data that we acquire and has a great deal of knowledge regarding the Hilton Gro System. Having worked in several hotels in our system, he understands the operation side of the business which helps him make informative decisions in regards to revenue management. Lance has also stepped up as a bench manager in times of need. Lance attended the University of Central Florida and California University under a business major. Lance enjoys all sports and is an avid golfer.

Amy Anthony, Corporate Controller 

Amy Anthony is the Corporate Controller for Horizon Hospitality. Amy oversees the daily accounting functions and manages the monthly financial statement preparation for Horizon Hospitality’s portfolio of properties. Upon graduation from college, she started her hospitality career in operations and later transitioned into accounting/finance which has been her focus for the last 13 years. Her experience includes bank account reconciliations, cash flow analysis, income audit, budgeting, variance analysis and guidance with implementation of new systems and processes.

Amy graduated from The Schreyer Honors College at Penn State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management. Amy enjoys walking and being outdoors with her dog in her free time.
